For the second year running it was time to get Reindeer Ready as Mc Donald's launched their UK Christmas campaign. TV, OOH, Social and of course the Snapchat Camera.
For this one we transformed the user and introduced the concept of competitive carrot eating, the more you ate the more powered up your Reindeers would be to help Santa with the Christmas Deliveries.
Flip the camera and there was Santa and the Reindeer flying through the sky, with sky detection you also had the full moon in the background.
Previously this sky technology used animated sprites in 2D to give a perception of a 3D animation in the sky, but for this instance the reindeer, Santa and their sleigh was completely 3D modeled to fly over and round the user.
The lens not only ran nationally to all Snapchatters but Snapcodes were places on the cups, fries and placemats in-store.
Over 6M Snapchatters played with this lens and thanks to footfall measurement we saw it even drove incremental visits.
